The short version
Stay Awake doesn't ask for your name, doesn't use accounts, doesn't run analytics and doesn't show ads. The tool works entirely inside your browser. The only information that leaves your device is the basic technical data any website needs in order to load, which is handled by the hosting service described below.

The details
What happens on your device
When you use Stay Awake, everything runs locally in your browser: the screen wake lock, the silent audio and video, the activity events and the timer. None of it is sent anywhere.
Your browser keeps a couple of small things on your device so the site works well:
- Your light or dark mode choice, saved in your browser's local storage
- A copy of the site's files, so it loads faster and works offline
You can remove both at any time by clearing your browser's site data for stayawaketool.com.
Copy and share buttons
The Share and Copy email buttons put a link or an email address on your clipboard when you click them. Stay Awake never reads your clipboard. On phones, Share opens your device's own share menu, and what you share, and with whom, stays between you and your device.
Hosting (Cloudflare)
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie for that purpose. I don't use this information to identify or track you. Emailing me
If you email support [at] stayawaketool [dot] com, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I only use it to reply to you and to improve Stay Awake. I won't add you to a mailing list or share your message with anyone. Emails are forwarded to my personal inbox using Cloudflare's email routing. If you'd like me to delete our conversation, just ask.
What I don't do
- Sell, rent or trade any information about you
- Use analytics, tracking pixels or fingerprinting
- Show ads or work with advertising networks
- Build profiles of the people who use the site
Children
Stay Awake isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU or the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access or delete personal information about you. Because Stay Awake doesn't collect personal data beyond emails you choose to send me, the main thing I can help with is finding or deleting those emails. Get in touch and I'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, for example if I ever add analytics, I'll update this page and the date at the top before it happens.
